Marshmallow calories


Marshmallow – it is relatively easy dessert. Unlike other kinds of dessert, it does not contain fats. It is a kind of pastes. Marshmallow produced by whipping berry-fruit puree (usually apple) with sugar and egg white. Marshmallow calories are medium compared to other desserts and high in comparison with other products.

The composition and useful properties of marshmallow

Pectin – a supplement that comes from the fruit (mainly apples), sugar beet, sometimes algae or watermelon (pectin contains most of the plants). This additive is registered as E440. It is a thickener and is often used in the food industry. Pectin is useful because it removes toxins, salts of heavy metals, radionuclides, and pectin normalizes blood sugar and cholesterol, has anti-viral effect, improves functioning of the gastrointestinal tract. Pectin is recommended to use for people living in environmentally unsafe areas, working in hazardous industries or risk getting radiation exposure. This addition gives the characteristic sour marshmallow.

Agar-agar is obtained from seaweed, it has no taste. Agar-agar is rich in macro- and microelements (iron, manganese, iodine, phosphorus, magnesium, copper, manganese, calcium), vitamins (E, K, pantothenic acid, B5). Agar is also able to rid the body of toxins, it also improves the functioning of the liver.
